Hdmi Cable Overnight
Oct/090
What the hell happened to my TV?
None of the HDMI ports work anymore. I have tried a different cable that my friend had. Neither my PS3 nor either of my friends’ laptops, with either of the cables, can get any results. It’s toast. WHY?!
It was working flawlessly. Then it just up and stopped receiving HDMI signals, neither sound nor picture. I want to emphasize that the AV and Component inputs still work.
I have a Panasonic plasma TV, and here are my failed attempts to fix it so far:
> I tried unplugging the TV for 5 minutes, 20 minutes, and even overnight, to no avail. This will not “reset” the ports.
> I tried resetting the PS3s display settings, several times over, and this did nothnig.
> I tried resetting the TV to its factory settings, which I successfully did, and this did NOTHING.
. . .
Do these these things just crap out? This is horrendous. I bought the TV back in January from Circuit City during their liquidation, so I have no warranty on it.
Call Panasonic. They have a strong reputation for their service. Talk to them about the problems you are facing and they can possibly walk you through some tests to do.
Also, if its less than a year old, its likely still covered under Panasonic’s warranty. Most store warranty support is only for a few months, and then the manufacturer warranty kicks in. Only extended warranties from stores put them personally on the hook for extended periods.
